COURSE OUTLINE FOR THE FRENCH DIPLOMA IN ALPINE SKIING
The Alpine Ski Diploma is a multi-stage French diploma comprising a number of exams, both practical and theory. Prosneige TRAINING prepares you for these exams, supporting you to obtain your diploma.
STAGE 1 - THE TECHNICAL TEST
This is the first exam in the Instructor Training Course. The Technical Test is a timed slalom.
To pass this exam, you must achieve a time that is less than or equal to the opening set time plus:
20% for men
25% for women
The Technical Test is organised by the Regional and Departmental directorates for Youth and Sport. You can register on the GEPAFO website .You can also find further information on the Technical Test dates, registration and requirements.
The Technical Test is open to anyone over the age of 17.
The pass certificate for the Technical Test is valid for 3 years and entitles the holder to enrol in the ENSA preparatory cycle.
STAGE 2 - PREPARATORY CYCLE
The preparatory cycle (UF 1) is a 2-week course run under the supervision of ENSA (Ecole Nationale de Ski et d’Alpinisme).
You will learn the basics of teaching Beginner, Level 1 and Level 2, Adults and Children, in Alpine skiing.
You will be assessed in 4 exams. There are 2 Technical Demonstrations, a spoken explanation of ski technique and an overall course mark. You will be issued with a Training Booklet after a pass in all 4 exams.
You can then start teaching as a Trainee Instructor within an approved ski school.
Supervision is in the form of a traineeship, covered by an agreement under the responsibility of an educational adviser.
STAGE 3 - EUROTEST (CTT)
The CTT (Common Training Test) is the next stage of the French Alpine Ski Diploma.. It consists of a timed giant slalom.
To pass this test, you must achieve a time that is less than or equal to, the set qualifying time plus :
18% for men
24% for women
You are required to demonstrate to your technical skills in Giant Slalom. Also to have honed your free-skiing skills. Prosneige Training offers you a program that meets these requirements.
1st and 2nd CYCLE
For the 1st and 2nd cycle training programme, Prosneige TRAINING offers you full support for all your Training Units (UT).
