VAL THORENS ARRIVAL GUIDE – LESSON MEETING POINT

Joining us on foot

Descend the Rue du Soleil until you see the restaurant ‘La Grange’ on your left. Make your way down the stairs until you arrive at the snow front. You’ll see our Chalet Les Planches & all of our Prosneige flags on the snow front right next door.

Join us using the resort shuttle (navettes)

Hop off the bus at either the ‘Montana’ or ‘Temples du Soleil’ stops. Then follow the ‘Joining us on foot’ directions.

Joining us on skis

From Place Caron (Prosneige Ski Shops): Ski down the slope following the Castor and Pollux moving carpet lifts. Keep skiing towards the start of the Peclet Cable Car, keeping to the right hand side of the piste. When you see the moving carpet Musaraigne, you’ll see our Chalet Les Planches, Prosneige flags & Kids Ski Garden on the right hand side (the building side) of the piste.

If you ski past us, take the Musaraigne to the top & then ski to your left once you exit.

ARRIVAL GUIDE VAL THORENS – LESSON INFORMATION

LESSON TIMES

On Sunday & Monday mornings, if you could arrive 15 minutes before the start of your lessons, it would be most appreciated!

KIDS GROUP LESSONS

Little Bear & Brown Bear Group Lessons
On the first morning, out Instructors & Ski Garden Team will be working together to welcome all of our Little & Brown Bear Skiers.

The Little & Brown Bears groups will be organised by the Ski Garden & Instructor Team after their evaluation.  The groups are not fixed & we can change the groups depending on the progression of your little skier.

Before our Little & Brown Bears leave the Ski Garden for the ‘big’ beginner slopes, they will be confident in the ski basics of turning & stopping.

The Medal Ceremony

Every Friday, 15 minutes before the Group Lessons end, we host a medal ceremony for all of our Kids Group Lessons.  Chat to our Instructor Team over a Hot Chocolate (with or without a dash of Chartreuse) about what your skier or snowboarder has achieved over the week.

Snack Time
All of our Kids Groups will have mid-morning or mid-afternoon pause to re-charge the batteries! Hot chocolate is included, but do pop a snack into their pocket & some cash if they are heading out on to the slopes. We have lockers available or our Little Bears room where you can leave their backpacks with snacks & drink bottle.

ADULT GROUP LESSONS

Your Instructors will be waiting in front of the Prosneige flag that matches your group level. We often have more than one group at each level running. So  if there are more than 8 participants in the group – don’t panic! The first 2 mornings are for getting your snow legs back & for our Instructors to assess the groups. We’ll then ensure you are in the right group that advances at your level & with the right number of participants.

First Time & Beginner Adults

We understand that learning to Ski or Snowboard can be a daunting process! So to make those first lessons on the slopes a little easier:

  • If you are booked into our First Time or Beginner Plus Group Ski Lessons, bring along your aprés ski footwear & so that you can leave your ski boots with us when you are done for the day.
  •  Need a helping hand to get your ski boots on & fastened or navigating the meeting point – Our Prosneige Team are here to help.
  • You can leave the poles in our Ski Storage for the first morning as they won’t be needed (just don’t forget which ones were yours!)

PRIVATE LESSONS

You’ll find our Welcome Team & your Instructors at the Private Lesson Flags – just in front of the Chalet Les Planches terrace.  There are 3 Flags based on the first letter of the name your lesson is booked under:

A – F

G – M

N – Z

Not sure where to go? Our Prosneige Team will be there to help – you’ll find Vanille, Lola or Noa, in their Prosneige Team jackets, and they’ll find your Instructor.

How are we doing?

We like to know what you think or what we could do better.  After your first lesson we’ll send you a SMS so you can let us know how your lesson went.

If your lesson didn’t go as planned, then we’ll give you a call to find out why. By all means feel free to pop in to the Ski School Office & speak to us directly – we’ll do our best to find a solution!

Which Lift Pass?

For all of our Group Ski & Snowboard Lessons – you’ll need a VAL THORENS/ORELLE lift pass.

Those more advanced Skiers & Snowboarders, your Instructor will let you know the day before if/when you’ll need the 3 Valley extension.

To make life easier at the barriers, pop your lift pass into a pocket on the left hand side of your jacket or trousers.

For those aged under 5 years, their lift pass is free! You’ll need to pick this up a the lift pass office & take along proof of their date of birth.

Have your equipment already booked with us? We have 2 Prosneige Shops where you can collect your equipment from our smiling Team.
