Legitimate and important questions to ask yourself before your stay. At Prosneige Méribel, we pay particular attention to the choices of our ski instructors. All of them are state-qualified and we are constantly striving to train them in client management, new ski equipment, new teaching methods and foreign languages. Human, professional and passionate, they have different backgrounds and profiles. Women, men, young people, older people, technicians, fun, freestylers … It is essential for Prosneige to be able to respond to all our clients and offer you different profiles of ski instructors. You can therefore choose your own ski instructor by telling us what qualities you are looking for in this mountain professional. There are no bad criteria. You can have very different desires depending on your level, your desire to progress or not, the people with whom you are going to share your experience with your ski instructor, the equipment you have, the place where you want him to meet you, the ski pass you have… As you can see, it is normal to have different desires and it is therefore essential that your instructor hears them, understands them and responds to them. That’s what we’re here for. Our agents at our booking centre, open 7 days a week, are at your disposal to find the profile that best suits your different wishes.
THE MEETING POINT
You choose the meeting place yourself. By default the meeting point of Prosneige Méribel is at La Chaudanne, main snow front of the resort, departure of many ski lifts. We can therefore fix the meeting point at La Chaudanne, or wherever you want in the ski resort. You can tell us when you book, it will be noted on your ski instructor’s schedule. You will easily recognise your ski instructor, he is dressed in a green jacket, with the Prosneige logo and navy blue trousers. He will have your name and phone number, so he can contact you if you are not there. Also, in case you don’t see him at the meeting point, or if you are running late, call us, we will contact your ski instructor and put you in touch.
THE TIME
You choose the number of hours and days you wish to share with him on the snow. From 2 hours to the whole day, everything is possible. The two-hour lessons are the shortest we give. Indeed, we think it is necessary to have some time with your ski instructor to assimilate his advice. Private ski lessons in Méribel start between 9am and 5pm, which is the opening hours of the ski lifts. You should know that the lessons between midday and two o’clock are interesting because the skiers have lunch, so the slopes are less crowded, you will be more quiet and there will be less queues in the lifts. Another point, the rates for private lessons are lower in the afternoon from noon. The rates also differ depending on the period you come and the number of people who will take the lesson with you. Your instructor is there to meet your needs, your desires.
MAKE PROGRESS AND GET TECHNICAL ADVICE
You wish to progress, get advice and work technically. Our instructors are trained and know the different stages of learning to ski. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, they will accompany you and give you the technical advice to make you work on the points you want. They are pedagogues. You just want to slide and enjoy the biggest ski area in the world, just tell them. Your instructor will take advantage of your ski lesson to make you discover his favourite slopes in Méribel, his good tips, his little advices to avoid the most frequented slopes, his good addresses. From teacher, he becomes a guide at your convenience. And of course one does not prevent the other and even during a technical lesson he will be able to advise you and make you benefit from his knowledge of the ski area. You will also benefit from priority access to the ski lifts to avoid queues. The lifts are very modern in the 3 Valleys and the waiting time is often very short but during busy periods or according to the schedule, what a luxury not to queue!
FREESTYLE LESSON
You want to learn freestyle or progress in a snow park. Méribel has two very nice ones on the ski area. Our ski school Prosneige has very good freestylers in its ski instructor team. They will introduce you to snowboarding in a snowpark by teaching you the safety rules and will teach you the different tricks possible according to the modules, the snow conditions and your level. At this stage, your instructor will easily be able to help you progress with a video feedback, which is a very interesting element to optimize your progress. All these elements are perfectly valid for your children. Whether you are with your family or you are taking a private ski lesson in Meribel just for your children, our ski instructors will adapt and are trained to make the youngest discover the snow sports. In a playful and progressive way, the only objective is that your children smile and fall in love with skiing. Meribel has two play areas for children which are a magical playground. These zones are protected from the flow of skiers and allow children to evolve in complete safety. They are designed to allow children to have fun and develop real technical skills. They allow the youngest children to progress in a playful way without feeling like they are working. Skiing is only a pleasure, you will be surprised by their progress!
IT IS PREFERABLE THAT THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP HAVE THE SAME LEVEL OF SKIING SO AS NOT TO CREATE FRUSTRATION.
WHICH SKI PASS?
We advise you to buy the ski pass according to your level. If you are a beginner or only have a few hours of skiing, you can take a mini pass. It gives you access to all the green slopes of the Méribel ski area, and will be enough for your first private ski lesson. If you are more comfortable, we advise you to take at least the Vallée de Méribel ski pass. It will allow you to evolve with your professional on all the slopes of the domain. It would be a shame to get stuck in your progression because of the ski pass. If you are confirmed, you can take a 3 Vallées ski pass, your level will allow you to take advantage of it without any problem. The logic is the same for children. It is however interesting to know that the ski lifts are free for children under 5 years old, but they must have a support. And there are preferential rates for children aged 5 to under 13. Don’t worry if you don’t have the right lift pass, your instructor will adapt your private ski lesson to the lift pass you have.

It is very important to let us know your impressions of this moment shared with your ski instructor, all the more so if you were disappointed.
