Choose gloves

Ski gloves are a highly technical and important part of ski equipment this is because the body’s extremities are where heat loss is the most. When faced with a cold environment the body irrigates and warms essential parts of the body the heart and brain neglecting your feet and hands.
Hands must be kept dry and warm A good pair of gloves must:
- Retain heat : made out of natural fabrics such as Goose down and wool, or synthetic fabrics like Primaloft.
- Keep hands dry : use of Gore-Tex or equivalent breathable membranes.
- Durable : external use of either leather, Kevlar, and in some cases plastic.
- Fit properly : depending on morphology, type of jacket, and use Gloves should not be worn too tight some air should be trapped in the glove with your hand this allows for better insulation The same fabrics and breathable membranes are used as with clothes.

Gloves or mittens

The historic unresolved dilemma
When temperatures drop or if you are very sensitive to cold mittens will be warmer, each finger helps keep the next one warm.

Cleaning

Most gloves and mittens are machine washable except leather models which must be as with any leather garment, periodically rubbed with special grease to remain soft and waterproof.
