If you are a beginner or if you just feel comfortable on green and blue runs choose a short ski to be more manoeuvrable and give you a sentiment of security. A ski with a foam core would be enough to start with, allowing you to progress without heavier skis.
You're comfortable making large and small turns on red runs, you enjoy carving down the slopes on all types of snow. You’re looking for all day skis that will help you progress. You prefer a dynamic carver to play with. Choose a ski with elegant materials such as wood, carbon, and even titanium which will give more life to your skis. To progress on all types of terrain opt for larger skis (75-80mm) with a wide tip.
You enjoy carving on hard pack morning to night, opt for a for a thin ski underfoot. Stiff, reinforced with plates of carbon, kevlar, or titanium. A stiff ski will give you a boost of speed as you exit your turn.
