How long should your skis be ?

The length of your skis change how it reacts on snow. It is important to get the length right to make the most of your ski experience.the size of you skis depends on 3 main elements. Your area of :
- Use
- Your hight / weight
- Your level

size skis skiing snow sunglass freeride
size skis group jump snow ski skiing goggles poles
ski skiing compettion slalom instructor poles

- For slope skis we recommend choosing skis between 5 and 15 cm below your hight. Shorter skis will be more manoeuvrable and thus more suitable for beginners.

- For freestyle or all mountain skis, choose a ski more or less your size and up to 10 cm longer, it must be comfortable on all types of terrain and stable at speed.

- If it's a freeride ski you are looking for then you should choose 15 cm longer than your height this increases surface area and makes the skis float better in deep snow, this also makes them more comfortable at speed.

Note

The higher your level the longer your skis can be (they will be more stable and faster). However a longer ski will not be as manoeuvrable and will be harder to turn. The higher and heavier you are the longer your skis should be to remain stable.
