Organised by level and ability, group courses usually run over a few days and are available either in the morning, in the afternoon or for full days.
For example a group lesson will run six days, generally from Sunday to Friday 9 AM to 12 AM. To make courses more efficient, the participants are grouped together either by ability or by number of weeks skied. The ski school will ask you your level.
Main advantages of group lessons:
- Group dynamics and atmospehre
- Prices are lower than private lessons
It is always possible to change course depending on individual progression.
Things to look out for:
- The Maximum number of people to a group.
- The total number of hours in a course.
- Whether children’s medals are included in the price or not
More flexible, different options are possible. The customer books an instructor and is then available to choose the meeting point, what is taught, the time schedule (however ski schools usually have specific time slots), and even a specific instructor.
Main advantages of private lessons:
- The instructor is there only for you, he will adapt lessons depending on your wishes (techniques, preferred area to ski...). As the ski instructor is dedicated to you only progression is rapid.
- The instructor can be your personal guide booking a restaurant on the slopes, taking you to choose equipment...
Note:
Private lessons are more expensive than group courses You must choose a discipline, you cannot have private ski lessons and private snowboard lessons Afternoon lessons may cost less than morning lessons.
