1ST SKI - 1 morning
<p><strong>Skiing background :</strong> Your child has between 1 and 3 weeks of skiing already. They know how to snowplough turn and stop on green and blue slopes. They can also get up on their own after a fall, and move around using the side stepping technique or the duck climb. They were also introduced to the parallel position on flat terrain. <br> <strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Learning the first steps of parallel turns such as parallel crossings and side slipping on easy green and blue slopes. Challenge their balance on a bumpy course. Discover the Safe skiers rules and respect them. <br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> On the first day, they get to know their instructors and the other children of the 1st Ski level. All the groups will start together, warmup and harmonize on a green slope. The groups will be defined by the levels and age of the children. As the week goes on, they will practice with different exercises to achieve their weekly goal and gain confidence skiing on blue slopes. Ski poles will be introduced to them during the week.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Sunday (first day) from 10:00 to 12:00, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00.<br> <strong>More :</strong> The 1st ski group lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 children. Everybody progresses at their own pace and children have the opportunity to change groups during the week. They can also enjoy some breaks and warm themselves up with a hot cocoa. The traditional medal awarding ceremony takes place on Fridays, in front of the ski school. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget the ski-pass for the chairlifts, a little snack in the pocket for the break and sunscreen for the sunny days!<br></p>

SNOWBOARD BRONZE - Adult - 6 afternoons
<p><strong>Your Experience :</strong> Beginner, it is your first time snowboarding or you have just a couple of hours experience (or on dry slopes).<br> </p><p><strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Controlling speed with a heel edge or toe edge slide and be able to do linked turns on a green slope.<br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> You will be introduced to your instructor and the rest of the group. The instructor will then explain how the equipment works. You will do your first slides in a straight line in the beginner area. After you get familiar with your balance, you’ll learn how to change directions. At first you might fall so the instructor will also give you different tips on how to get up. During your progression you will discover which foot you have in front on the board (goofy or regular). Then we will start to learn how to control your speed on the back side edge. The instructor will then teach you how to cross the slope on the back and front side edge. Once you start getting comfortable with that you will learn how to control speed on your toe edge, the instructor will help you with the toe edge slide. We will then practice the transition between the toe and heel edge position to be able to link the turns. After you are able to ride down the slope doing heel & front-side turns you will be taught your first flat tricks like 180 slides.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Sunday to Friday from 14:00 to 17:00.<br> </p><p><strong>More :</strong> The Bronze Snowboard group lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 adults (from 13 years old). Everybody progresses at their own pace and have the opportunity to change groups during the week. </p> <p><strong>Remarks :</strong> Don't forget your ski-pass for the chairlifts, a little snack in the pocket for the break and sunscreen for the sunny days!<br></p>

SNOWBOARD GOLD - Child - 6 mornings
<p><strong>Experience :</strong> With 2 weeks or more snowboarding , your child knows how to link toe and heel side turns on blue slopes.<br> </p><p><strong>Goals of the week :</strong> Discover carving turns, off piste, freestyle, 180 jumps and rails. Discovering their first switch turns. Work on vertical movement and other technical aspects to improve skills.<br> </p><p><strong>Week's program :</strong> Meeting their instructor and the rest of the group, warm up on easy slopes. Then the goal is to improve their technique so they can ride down all kinds of terrain in a safe way. The instructor will help them discover their first carving turns. Your child will do their first complete switch turns. The tricks will be more and more complex, like 180 jump or rails at the park. It’s also time to start riding all terrains and off-piste. The instructor will explain on how to adjust gear depending on how you ride.<br> </p><p><strong>Hours :</strong> Sunday (first day) from 10:00 to 12:00, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00.<br> </p><p><strong>More :</strong> The Gold Snowboard group lessons are limited to a maximum of 8 Children (from 8 years old). The Alpe d’Huez is situated on a fully south-facing plateau at 1860 m above sea level, and its skiable area enjoys maximum exposure to the sun. So enjoy a day’s skiing in the sun: up to 7 1/2 hours a day of sun in December, up to 11 hours a day in April. The French Weather Bureau has recorded an average of 300 days’ sunshine a year at the resort! Also, on a fine day, you can see 1/5e of France from Pic Blanc.
