How to choose freestyle skis

How about taking a jump or rail in the park? Getting your blood pumping in a halfpipe? Want to give freestyle skiing a go?

Freestyle is separate from other skiing disciplines and consistes of performing jumps, grinding (sliding along) rails, and modules, aerial flips and turns. Because of these specificities freestyle skis are different from other alpine skis.
To choose take into account:
- Your level
- Your height

If you wish to divide your time between the snow park and the slopes or if you are a beginner:
Choose a softer more forgiving ski with the bindings placed in the normal alpine center. These skis will allow you to experiment in the snowpark and not brake your piggy bank. Be aware though that they don't have the best of grip on slop.

If you wish to stay on the snowpark all day long, choose stiffer, more technical skis with the bindings placed in the center of the ski? Some models have reinforced edges to help protect them from being damaged while sliding rails and modules, the edges are tied together with a kevlar thread.

What size to choose ?

Freestyle skis are generally smaller than your height, opt for between your height and 10 cm less, depending on you level (the smaller the easier).
