As the name implies these are everyday all round skis able to handle a wide variety of terrain. They are larger than slope or race skis underfoot to provide more stability at speed and to help float in deeper snow. The tradeoff is edge to edge movement meaning short quick turns are more difficult.
Most all mountain skis have a traditional camber for grip on hardpack combined with a tip rocker to enter into turns easier and for better float off piste.
- An all mountain ski between 78mm and 85mm underfoot will be playful on slope and wide enough to enjoy a few turns off piste, choose this type of ski if you are starting to try different types of snow and terrain. These skis are 70% slopeand 30% off-piste.
- An all mountain ski between 85mm and 90mm is the most versatile you can find, good grip on slope for powerful long turns and wide enough to enjoy going off-piste from time to time. These skis are 50% slope and 50% off-piste.
- An all mountain ski between 90mm and 98mm will require more technique to change from one edge to another on slope but offers a lot of stability, off-piste or on rugged terrain these skis just plough right through. These skis are 30% slope and 70% off-piste.
For a slope ski you can choose your slope skis or if you want ski there freeride you can choose your freeride skis
